rian to receive of said Martenet, one hundred and
fifty copies of his large Map of Maryland, on rol-
lers and one hundred and fifty copies of said Map
in Atlas form, (ten copies of each whereof shall
not be colored,) to hold the same subject to the
provisions hereinafter contained, and to give his
receipt as Librarian, to said Martenet for the
same.

Authorized to
pay.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That on the exhibi-
tion of the certificate of the State Superintendent
of Public Instruction, and the receipt of the State
Librarian to the Comptroller of the Treasury, it
shall be and is hereby made his, the said Comp-
troller's duty to issue his warrant to the Treasu-
rer of the State to pay to the said Martenet, or his
order, the sum of three thousand dollars.

Disposal of
the Map and

Atlas.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That the said Libra-
rian shall keep carefully and in as good preserva-
tion as possible, the ten copies not colored, of each
the said Map and Atlas, s abject to the orders of
any future Legislature, to have them or any of
them so marked or colored as to show any changes
it may hereafter be thought advisable to have made
in the geographical lines or limits of election or
other districts, he shall retain two copies of each
the Map and Atlas, for the use of the State Li-
brary, shall place one copy of each in the Senate
Chamber, in the Hall of the House of Delegates,
in the Appellate Court Chamber, he shall retain
six copies of each fur the use of the State, or for
such agent or agents as she may empower to use
them, and he shall further, with all convenient
despatch cause eighty-eight copies of each, the
Map on rollers, and the Map in portable Atlas
form, to be carefully put up and packed in a man-
ner to avoid injury, and forward the same in man-
ner following: that is to say, three copies of each
to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of each county
in the State, and to the Clerk of the Circuit Court
in the city of Baltimore, with instructions to each
of said Clerks in the counties to retain a copy of
each of said Map and Atlas in his own office, to
place a copy of each in the office of the County
Commissioners, in the office of the Register of
Wills, to the Clerk of the Circuit Court in Balti-
more city, to retain a copy of each, said Map and
Atlas, in his own office to place a copy of each in
