AN ACT to enable the Directors of the Maryland
Institution for the Instruction of the Blind, to
erect suitable buildings and to repeal section
five of Article thirty-three of the Code of Public
General Laws entitled, "Indigent Blind," and
re-enact the same with amendment.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, the board of Directors of the Mary-
land Institution for Instruction of the Blind, has
commenced the erection of a suitable building for
the purpose of affording facilities for the instruc-
tion of the blind, but will be unable to complete
the same without assistance from the State; there-
fore,

authorized to
pay.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That for the purpose of assisting
the Maryland Institution for the Instruction of the
Blind in the erection of a suitable building for
the institution on the lot of ground purchased for
that purpose, in Baltimore county, Maryland, the
Treasurer of the State, upon the warrant of the
Comptroller, shall pay to the Treasurer of said
institution the sum of thirty thousand dollars for
the year eighteen hundred and sixty-five, and
twenty thousand dollars for the year eighteen
hundred and sixty-six, and the said sum of fifty
thousand dollars is hereby appropriated for that
purpose out of any unappropriated money in the
Treasury.

Repealed and
re-enacted.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That section five of
Article thirty-three of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws be and the same is hereby repealed,
and the following enacted in lieu thereof:

Annual sum
to be paid.
|
5. The amount per annum paid for any one
individual shall not exceed the sum of three hun-
dred .dollars, nor the term of instruction eight
years.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
