NUMBER 2.

RESOLUTION appointing a Commissioner to Vir-
ginia, to negotiate with the proper authorities in
relation to the protection of property in Mary-
land.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Outerbridge Horsey, of Frederick, be, and he
is hereby commissioned to proceed at once to Rich-
mond, on the part of the State of Maryland, to en-
ter into negotiations with the proper authorities of
Virginia, for the protection of the citizens of Mary-
land from injury in person or property, by any un-
advised act of the military forces of Virginia, and
their compensation for any already done, and to
join with said authorities in considering and adopt-
ing, subject to the approbation of the General As-
sembly, such an arrangement as may be proper to
preserve the harmony between the two States from
disturbance by any exciting cause whatsoever.

RESOLUTION regulating the mileage of Mem-
bers and Officers of both Houses.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,.
That the sum of eighteen dollars, in addition to
their usual mileage, be paid to each of the Senators
and Delegates, and the officers of each House from
the following counties and Baltimore city, to wit:
Cecil, Kent, Talbot, Queen Anne's, Caroline, Dor-
chester, Somerset, Worcester, St. Mary's, Charles,
Calvert, Anne Arundel, Prince George, Montgo-
mery, Harford, Carroll, Baltimore county, Baltimore
city, and Howard.
