CHAPTER 89.

Passed Aug.
5, 1861.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of a sum of
money to Captain Gabriel Beckley of the United
Guards, of Frederick county, for ser vices rendered
under the orders of the Governor.

Authority to
draw war-
rants.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That A. L. Jarrett, the Comptroller
of this State, draw his warrant upon the Treasurer
of this State, and that the Treasurer draw his check
upon the said warrant, in favor of Captain Gabriel
Beckley, of the United Guards, of Frederick county,
for the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars, for
their services in guarding the Monocacy Bridge in
June last, under the orders of the Governor.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act take effect
from its passage.

 

CHAPTER 90.

7, 1861.

AN ACT making appropriations for the payment
of the expenses of the extra session of the Gener-
al Assembly of Maryland, for the year 1861.

Sums appro-
priated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That for the payment of the expen-
ses of the extra session of the General Assembly of
Maryland, for the year 1861, the following sums
of money or so much thereof as may be necessary,
be and the same are hereby appropriated: that is
to say, for the payment of members and officers of
the Senate and House of Delegates, thirteen thous-
and one hundred and twenty-three dollars; pay of
chaplains, one hundred dollars; printing, two hun-
dred dollars; rent of Hall, three hundred dollars;
to Edwin M. Shipley for Stationery, payment of as-
sistant Librarian, porterage and rent of office, one
thousand and seventy-two dollars and forty-seven
cents; to the Librarian for expenses incurred in
