take effect from its passage.

AN ACT appropriating a sum of money for the
payment of the claims of John Murphy & Co.,
Andrew Henderson, Hugh McAlear, Adams &
Co's. Express, Tyler Davis, Erasmus West, G. &
L. Markell & Co., A. H. Eager, H. C. Shipley,
Adolphus Fox, Quynn & Ritter and Edwin M.
Shipley.

Authorised
to pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer on the warrant of
the Comptroller be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to pay to John Murphy & Co., ten hun-
dred and sixty-eight dollars and seventy-five cents,
for Stationery, &c., for use of State Library; to
Andrew Henderson, twenty dollars and sixteen
cents for articles furnished the Legislature; to
Hugh McAlear, four dollars and eighty-six cents,
for articles furnished the Legislature; to Adams &
Co. Express, five dollars and sixty cents for freight
on Stationery, &c.; to Tyler Davis, four dollars
for freight on Stationery; to Erasmus West, three
dollars and sixty-two cents, for articles furnished
the Legislature; to G. & L. Markell & Co., two
dollars and forty cents for articles furnished the
State Library; to H. C. Shipley, one dollar and
fifty cents for articles furnished the Committee on
Claims; to A. H. Hager, thirty six dollars for ser-
vices as porter to the State Library; to H. C. Ship-
ley, forty-five dollars, for services rendered as as-
sistant Librarian; to Adolphus Fox, seven dollars
and fifty cents for clock, for use of Senate; to
