teenth day of April, eighteen hundred and sixty-
one, in said city, be and they are hereby relieved
from prosecution or punishment for, or in conse-
quence of their acts or obedience to said orders.

CHAP. 9.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That no Prosecuting
Attorney, nor any officer of any Court, in this State
shall be entitled to charge or receive any compen-
sation or costs in any prosecution which has been
or may be instituted against any person, for whose
relief this act is intended.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all laws in force
in this State, at the time of the said acts referred
to under the first section of this act, be and they
; are hereby repealed, so far as regards the said per-
sons and their acts.

AN ACT making an appropriation for flie Mary-
land Penitentiary.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sum. of twenty-five thou-
sand dollars be and the same are hereby appropria-
ted out of any money in the Treasury not other-
wise appropriated, for the Maryland Penitentiary,
and that the Treasurer of the State, upon the war-
rant of the Comptroller shall pay said sum to the
Board of Directors of said Penitentiary.
