neer salesman of color in the field of
large insurance in the City of Balti-
more. Mr. Berry is active in civic and
social affairs of the community, hav-
ing served for five years as secretary
of The Adelphian Club, leading men's
club of the city. He is trustee of
Grace Presbyterian Church.
RALPH V. COOK

Mr. Cook was born in Washington,
D. C. He is the son of the iate John
F. Cook, who for 25 years was Tax
Collector of the District of Columbia.
Mr. Ralph V. Cook is a graduate of
Cornell and is the head of the Tech-
nical Department and Art of Douglass
High School.

As an active force in the Urban
League and the Biracial Committee,
Mr. Jones took a prominent part in
having the colored recreation depart-
ment transferred from the P. A. L. to
the School Board supervision. A re-
port on a business survey to the In-
terdenominational Ministerial Alliance
by Mr. Jones set in motion activities
by that, body which resulted in the
establishment of the Fair Department
Store, Inc., here. His advice is gen-
erally sought on matters of civic wel-
fare here in Baltimore. As managing
editor of the Afro-American and in-
structor of journalism at Morgan Col-
lege, Mr. Jones has become known as
one of the leading factors in Negro
journalism throughout the country.
