SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 7, 1910.

CHAPTER 99.

AN ACT to require the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to pro-
vide bells at public crossings of said railroad at Woodstock,
in Howard County, to warn travelers of approaching trains.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad shall provide bells
at the public crossings of Woodstock, in Howard County, of
said railroad.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That failure to comply
with the provisions of Section 1 of this Act shall be deemed a
misdemeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of fifty dollars
($50.00) for each day after the passage of this Act that said
crossing shall be unprovided with bells.

CHAPTER 155.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 3 of
Chapter 317 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1896, entitled "An Act to create a Treasurer for
Howard County, and to provide for the collection of taxes
therein."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 3 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1896, Chapter 317, be and the same is hereby
repealed, and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the County Commissioners
shall provide and furnish the Treasurer an office in the Court
House building or in some other building as near thereto as
possible. And it shall be the duty of the Treasurer to keep
his said office open daily except legal holidays and such other
days that he may be in the several election districts collect-
ing taxes, and he shall attend for the transaction of business
therein, in person or by deputy, and it shall be his duty to
attend in person to collect and receive taxes at least twice
during the collection year in each election district at such
time and places as he may designate, of which at least ten
