bridge as aforesaid shall have the right within twenty days
after the making of such assessment to appeal to the Circuit

Court for Dorchester County.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That all other expenses con-
nected with the improvement of the said streets, including
curbing and gutter work, if any, and the paving of the street
crossings, as well as all expenses connected with the execu-
tion of this law, such as the cost of advertising, the purchase
of books and stationery, the printing of the bonds herein au-
thorized, the employment of an attorney or counsel, if any
should be needed, and other necessary and incidental expendi-
tures, shall be paid out of the street improvement fund hereby
authorized, and shall not be included in the cost to be levied
upon the abutting property owners.

SEC. 11. Provided, however, that the foregoing sections
shall not become effective unless the same be approved by a ma-
jority of the qualified voters of the Town of Cambridge, afore-
said, participating in a special election at which the question
of street improvements as hereinbefore provided, shall be sub-
mitted, to be held in the year 1910 on the same day and be-
tween the same hours upon which the quali-fied voters of the
town aforesaid shall engage in an election for five commis-
sioners of said town under the provisions of the town charter.

At each polling place in the said town on said date there
shall be provided by the Commissioners of Cambridge tickets
having written or printed therein "For Street Improvements"
and "Against Street Improvements," and each qualified voter
shall have the privilege of voting on said subject.

The ballots so cast shall be deposited in separate ballot
boxes provided by said Commissioners for such purpose and
shall be received and counted by the same judges and clerks
who are delegated and appointed to conduct the election for
the office of Commissioners of Cambridge (it being the intent
and purpose of this Act that the judge and clerks appointed
by the Commissioners of Cambridge aforesaid, for holding the
election for said office of Commissioners of Cambridge shall
have full power to conduct the special election on the question
of street improvement), and the return of said votes shall be
forthwith made to the Commissioners of Cambridge who
promptly shall make proclamation of the result of said elec-
tion by advertisement to be published in one or more news-
papers printed in the town of Cambridge aforesaid, and pro-
vided further that the said Commissioners shall give at least
three weeks' notice of the time and places of said election on
the subject of street improvement by advertisement published
