in at least two newspapers in the Town of Cambridge and that
said advertisement so to be published shall set out in full all
the provisions of this Act.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, Provided a majority of the qual-
ified voters participating in said special election aforesaid
shall vote for street improvement, "that this Act shall take
effect on the thirtieth day of June, in the year nineteen hun-
dred and ten.

ARTICLE XL

FREDERICK COUNTY.

CHAPTER 370.

AN ACT to prohibit the sale or barter of spirituous or fer-
mented liquors, larger beer or intoxicating drinks of any
kind at any place in Frederick County, within three miles of
the Methodist Prostestant Church known as Pleasant Grove
Church, and situated in New Market District No. 9 of Fred-
erick County, Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall be unlawful for any person, corporation,
company or association, directly or indirectly, to sell or barter
any spirituous or fermented liquors, larger beer or intoxicating
drinks of any kind at any place in Frederick County, Mary-
land, within three miles of the Methodist Protestant Church
known as Pleasant Grove Church, situated in New Market Dis-
trict No. 9 of said Frederick County, whether or not made or
manufactured by the person, corporation, company or associa-
tion offering to make such sale, barter or distribution thereof;
nor shall any license be issued or granted by the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Frederick County for the sale of the same
within the limits aforesaid; provided that nothing in this Act
shall prohibit the sale of any spirituous, fermented or intoxi-
cating liquors within the limits aforesaid by the makers or
manufacturers of the same in quantities not less than one gal-
lon when the same is not to be used, distributed or consumed
on the premises where sold.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That any person convicted of the
violations of this Act in any Court having jurisdiction of the
offense shall for the first offense be fined in the sum of not
less than fifty dollars nor more than two hundred dollars, and
