the collection of State taxes and other moneys of the State,
with this condition: "That if the above-bonded—————— shall
well and faithfully execute his office of Treasurer of Dorches-
ter County and Clerk, and shall account with the State Comp-
troller for and pay to the Treasurer of the State the several
sums of money which he shall receive for the State, or be an-
swerable for by law, at such time as the law shall direct, then
this obligation to be void; but otherwise to remain in full force
and virtue in law." The said official shall as aforesaid also
execute and present to the said County Commissioners for ap-
proval a bond to the State of Maryland in the penalty of thirty
thousand dollars, in reference to the collection and payment of
county taxes and other moneys .belonging to the said county,
with this condition: "That if the above-bound shall well and
faithfully execute his office of 'Treasurer of Dorchester County
and Clerk,' and shall account with the said County Commis-
sioners for, and pay to the same or to their order, the several
sums of money which he shall receive for the county, or be an-
swerable for by law, at such time as the law shall direct, then
this obligation to be void; but otherwise to remain in full force
and virtue in law." The said bonds shall be respectively exe-
cuted by said official, and by one surety or more than one, or
by a guaranty or bonding company, incorporated under the
laws of this State, as surety. When a guaranty or bonding
company is surety on either of the said bonds, the said County
Commissioners shall levy and pay such sum as may be neces-
sary to defray the expenses of said bonds. The said bonds and
the surety or sureties thereon must be approved by the said
County Commissioners, and they or a majority of them must
endorse on the bonds severally such approval, and they or a
majority of them shall sign said endorsements. After the
bonds have been severally approved they shall forthwith be filed
in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for said county,
and they shall be recorded by said clerk, and a certified copy
thereof shall be admitted and received as evidence in any of
the Courts of this State. (The said W. Hamilton Spedden be-
ing under the following section (Section 107) constituted
Treasurer of Dorchester County and Clerk for a term continu-
ing to the end of the year nineteen hundred and thirteen and
being required to execute and present for approval the bonds
described in the following section (Section 107), shall not be
required in or for his said term to execute the bonds described
in this section (Section 106).) If, from death, resignation,
removal from office, removal from the county or from any other
cause or causes, a vacancy occurs in the office of the "Treasurer
of Dorchester County and Clerk," the said County Commission-
ers as speedily as practicable, shall fill the vacancy for the un-
