724 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

entitled to vote in the State of Maryland at that time had they
been residents thereof, at a State election, and the lawful male
descendants of any person who prior to January the 1st, A. D.
1868, were entitled to vote in the State of Maryland, or would
have been entitled to vote in the State of Maryland at that
time had they been residents thereof, shall be entitled to vote
for said president and commissioners, and no person not com-
ing within one of the three enumerated classes shall be regis-
tered as a legal voter of the town of Elkton or qualified to vote
at any town election held in said town.

SEC. 130A. That the Supervisors of Elections for Cecil
County be and they are hereby authorized and directed, not
later than the tenth day of April, in the year nineteen hundred
and ten, and by that date in every year thereafter, to appoint
two Registers of Voters for the town of Elkton, one from each
of the leading political parties of the State; said Registers of
Voters shall receive the same compensation as Register of Vot-
ers under the General Laws of the State, and shall hold office
for one year and until their successors are duly appointed and
qualified; said Registers shall take the usual oath of office be-
fore the Supervisors of Elections, and the said President and
Commissioners of the town of Elkton shall procure and deliver
to the said Registers of Voters two suitable registration books,
similar in all respects to registration books now in use under
the Election Laws of Maryland, and shall also designate the
place where the registration shall be held each year.

SEC. 131. Said Registers of Voters shall open said books of
registration at the place designated as provided by Section
130A on the third Monday and Tuesday of April in the year
nineteen hundred and ten, for a complete registration of the
voters of the town of Elkton who possess the qualifications
required by Section 130, and every year thereafter on the third
Monday in April, to register new voters and to revise the list
of said registration; said Registers of Voters shall give at least
five days' notice, by handbills, of the time and place of said
registration, which handbills shall be posted in at least ten
places in the town, and at said registration of voters said Reg-
isters of Voters shall duly register all voters possessing the
qualifications as provided in Section 130 who shall apply in
person for registration. Any register of voters who shall know-
ingly violate the provisions of this Act shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be punished as provided
under the General Laws of this State relating to registration,
and said books of registration shall at the close of each regis-
tration be turned over to the Supervisors of Elections for
Cecil County for safekeeping, and shall by said Supervisors of
