SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 214.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 130,
130A, 131 and 132 of Article 8 of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Cecil County," sub-title "Elkton," and to re-
enact the same with amendments, and to add an additional
section to said Article under said title and sub-title, to fol-
low Section 132, and to be designated 132A; fixing the quali-
fications of voters in the town of Elkton, and providing for
their registration and for the election of town officials in
said town.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 130, 130A, 131 and 132 of Article 8 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of the State of Maryland, title
"Cecil County," sub-title "Elkton," be and the same are hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments and a new section
be and the same is hereby added to said Article 8 under said
title and sub-title, to follow Section 132 and to be designated
as Section 132A, all of said sections to read as follows:
SEC, 130. Said board shall consist of five persons—a presi-
dent -and four Commissioners, who shall be citizens of the
United States, at least twenty-five years of age, and bona fide
residents of said town for at least two years n,ext preceding
the date of their election, and shall each in his own right, or in
the right of his wife, own real estate in the town assessed at
not less than six hundred dollars; and all male citizens of
said town of Elkton duly registered as hereinafter provided,
of twenty-one years of age or over, who have resided in said
town one year or over preceding any town election, who have
never been convicted of any infamous crime under the laws of
the State of Maryland, and who shall come within any one of
the three following classes of male citizens:
(1) All taxpayers of the town of Elkton assessed on the
town books for at least five hundred dollars.
(2) All duly naturalized male citizens and the male de-
scendants of duly naturalized citizens who have reached the
age of twenty-one years.
(3) All citizens who prior to January the 1st, 1868, were
entitled to vote in the State of Maryland, or would have been
