704 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

66. The limits of the said town of Manchester shall em-
brace all the land within the following metes and bounds,
courses and distances, to wit:

Beginning at a stone marked B. C. L. standing on the east
side of Main street, opposite from the intersection of the Bach-
man's Valley road with Main street, and running thence south
59 1/4 degrees, west 659 feet; thence south 23 1/4 degrees, east
2680 feet; thence south 67 1/2 degrees, west 592 feet; thence
south 40 degrees, east 858 feet; thence north 69 1/2 degrees, east
3258 feet; thence north 25 1/2 degrees, west 917 feet; thence
north 57 1/4 degrees, west 214 feet; thence north 47 3/4 degrees,
east 543 feet; thence north 22 1/2 degrees, west 211 feet; thence
north 32 degrees east 1157 feet thence north 52 1/2 degrees, west
513 feet; thence south 50 1/2 degrees, west 699 feet; thence north
35 degrees, west 1441 feet; thence south 57 1/4 degrees, west
350 feet; thence south 23 1/4 degrees, east 131 feet to the be-
ginning, as will appear by reference .to certificate and plat
fully describing the bounds of the corporation filed with the
Clerk of the Circuit Court for Carroll County for record.

67. The citizens of said town of Manchester qualified to
vote for Delegates to the General Asembly of Maryland, and
shall have resided within the limits of said town for a period
of not less than six months next preceding the election, shall
elect by ballot, on the first Saturday of April in each and
every year, at such place as shall be designated by the Mayor
and Council, between the hours of one o'clock and four o'clock
P. M., one person of not less than twenty-five years of age, and
who has been a resident of said town for at least twelve months
next preceding such elections, and shall be the owner of real
estate or leasehold property in said town, and a taxpayer in
said town on an assessment of at least five hundred dollars,
as Mayor, and five persons of not less than twenty-five years
of age, each of whom, or his wife, shall be owner of real estate
or leasehold property in said town, and taxpayers in said town
on an assessment of at least five hundred dollars, and resi-
dents of said town for not less than twelve months next preced-
ing such elections, as Councilmen; and in case,of a tie vote at
any election, the Mayor shall give ten days' notice of a new
election to decide the choice between the parties having a tie
vote.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
