CHAPTER 61.
AN ACT to require the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company
to place a flagman at the crossing at Hoods Mills Station in
Carroll Comity.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company be, and
it is hereby directed and required to place a flagman at Hoods
Mill^tation, in Carroll County, where the county road of said
county road crosses the tracks of said railroad company at
said place; said flagman to be on duty between the hours of six
o'clock A. M. and nine o'clock P. M. to warn persons using said
crossing of the approach of trains upon said railroad.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad Company shall be liable to pay a fine of twenty-
five dollars for each and every day it shall fail to comply with
the provisions of the preceding section; said fine to be reserved
in the name of the State of Maryland to the use of the County
Commissioners of Carroll County, in the Circuit Court of said
county or before a Justice of the Peace thereof, when the
amount of said fine does not exceed the jurisdiction of the
Justice of the Peace; and when collected to be paid into the
road fund of said county, and in any such proceedings service
upon a ticket agent of said company shall be sufficient service
upon said railroad company.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
ten days after the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 32.
AN ACT to amend Chapter 206 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland, Session of 1900, amending the charter
of the town of Union Bridge, Carroll County, State of Mary-
land, by adding another section thereto, designated 181 1/2.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That an additional section, designated 181 1/2, be inserted,
added to and read immediately after Section 181 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland, of the Acts of 1900,
Chapter 206, which additional section is and reads as follows:
SEC. 181 1/2. The Mayor and Common Council of the town
of Union Bridge, Carroll County, Maryland, shall also have
full power and authority to authorize and permit and by an
ordinance grant to any electric or steam railroad company or
telephone or telegraph company, person or persons, firm or
