of the respective districts, with the power to the Baltimore
County Roads Engineer to suspend any district road super-
visor who in his judgment does not faithfully perform his
duties in reference to the work to be performed under this Act,
with the right of such supervisor so suspended to be reinstated
by the Highways Commission of Baltimore County, if upon pub-
lic hearing the written charges which cause the suspension shall
not be sustained. The said district roads supervisors as com-
pensation to them for the additional duties imposed upon them
by the provisions of this Act shall receive a sum not ex-
ceeding two hundred and fifty dollars ($250) per annum,
in addition to the salary now received by virtue of his position
as road supervisor of his respective district, and shall make no
expenditure on the work constructed and performed under the
provisions of this Act without first obtaining the express
authority of the Baltimore County Road Engineer, and shall
with the consent of said engineer, have power to discharge em-
ployees for neglect of duty, whether the same were employed by
them or by the Good Roads Commission of Baltimore County
direct. The said road supervisors shall keep books showing
in detail the expenditures made by them, or under their super-
vision, on each road in their respective districts improved or
constructed under the provisions of this Act, including the cost
of all materials used and labor expended, and shall furnish on
or before the tenth day of each month to the Baltimore County
Roads Engineer a copy of such itemized statement of their
expenditures for the preceding month, and this report shall be
separate, clear and distinct from any work done by the High-
ways Commission of Baltimore County. No bills so reported
shall be paid until they shall have received the approval of the
roads engineer and the Good Roads Commission of Baltimore
County. No road supervisor shall have any pecuniary interest
in any contract, nor shall furnish any team for any road work
done under this Act except in such cases as the Good Roads
Commission of Baltimore County shall specially authorize in
advance by an order duly entered on its records.
SEC. 368C. All matters pertaining to and affecting the pub-
lic highways, bridges, streets, lanes and alleys of the county
which shall be improved, constructed, located or built by the
Good Roads Commission of Baltimore County under the pro-
visions of this Act shall, so far as such work is concerned, be
under the general control and supervision of said commission,
which commission is hereby given, so far as said work author-
ized by this Act is concerned, the same powers as now held and
possessed by the Highways Commission of Baltimore County,
except that the Good Roads Commission of Baltimore County
shall not enter into any contract in reference to said road work
