land, bordering on the property of the United States, to be
used as a rifle range for the Naval Academy, Annapolis,
Maryland.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, That the jurisdiction of the State
of Maryland is hereby ceded to the United States of America
over all the lands lying under the waters of Carr's Creek, in
Anne Arundel County, bordering on and adjoining the prop-
erty of the United States of America, that is to be used as a
rifle range for the Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland; that
so long as such jurisdiction rests in the United States of
America said lands shall be exonerated and discharged from
all taxes, assessments and other charges that may be imposed
under the authority of the State of Maryland; provided, that
the United States of America shall retain such jurisdiction so
long as the said adjoining lands shall be owned by the United
States, and no longer; and provided further, that such juris-
diction is granted upon the express condition that the State
of Maryland shall retain a concurrent jurisdiction with the
United States of America in and over the said lands so far as
that civil processes in all cases not affecting the real or personal
property of the United States of America, and such criminal
or other processes as shall issue under the authority of the State
of Maryland, against any person or persons charged with
crimes or misdemeanors committed within or without the lim-
its of the said lands, may be executed therein, in the same way
and manner as if no jurisdiction had been hereby ceded.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 415.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel County, in the State of Maryland, at their
discretion, to build and erect a draw bridge over Stony Creek,
in the Third District of said county, from the east side of
said creek to a point immediately opposite on the west side
of said creek, and at a point which will give the most direct
means of traffic and shorten the distance in connection there-
with to Baltimore City from said east side of Stony Creek;
and to issue bonds payable in twenty years to pay for the
construction of said bridge and provide by taxation for the
means of redeeming said bonds with interest, and provide the
necessary keeper for said brIdge.
