He shall, on the tenth day of January, in the year for which
he was elected, take proceedings to collect by law all taxes re-
maining unpaid, and he shall collect by law all water rents
that have been due for fifteen days, and all assessments within
six months after they are due. Fifteen days after the expira
tion of each quarter he shall notify the water superintendent
of all water rents for the preceding quarter remaining unpaid,
and it shall be the duty of the water superintendent to turn
over the same, and he shall not again turn on the water for
the property or properties in default until the water rent due,
together with a fee of one dollar is paid to said collector,
which said fee shall be paid by said collector to the town treas-
urer. The said collector shall be allowed three per cent. (3%)
for all money collected.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 644.
AN ACT to add three new sections to the Charter of the town
of Westernport, in Allegany County, as amended and re-
enacted by the Acts of 1886, Chapter 33; Acts 1890, Chapter
135, and the Acts of 1904, Chapter 203; said new sections
providing for the registration of voters and the holding of
elections within the corporate limits of the town of Western-
port, Allegany County, Maryland, and said sections to be
known as Sections 252, 253 and 254, respectively, of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Allegany
County," sub-title "Westernport."
SECTION 252. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor and Commissioners of Westernport
shall cause to be maintained a registration of the legal and
qualified voters residing within the corporate limits of the
town of Westernport of all male citizens of twenty-one years
of age or over, who have resided within said corporate limits
for the period of six months, and who have resided in the
State of Maryland for the period of one year next preceding
said registration; said registration shall be made and cor-
rected in manner provided in the general registration law of
the State, and shall specify the residence of the voters on each
street, lane and alley, and such registration shall be essential
to the right to vote at any election held under the charter of
the said town of Westernport. The Mayor and Commissioners
of Westernport shall annually on the first Monday in Novem-
