PRIVATE ACTS. 1447

CHAPTER 175.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claim of the
Farmers' National Bank of Annapolis, assignee of William
J. C. Dulany Company, being so much on account of the
supplies furnished the Executive Department, the Court of
Appeals, the Library of the State for the years 1908 and
1909, and the General Assembly of Maryland for the Session
of 1910.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to draw his warrant on the Treasurer
of Maryland for the sum of fifteen hundred and ninety-four
dollars and thirty-eight cents ($1,594.38) in favor of the said
Farmers' National Bank of Annapolis, assignee of William J.
C. Dulany Company, being so much on account of supplies
furnished the Executive Department, the Court of Appeals
and the Library of the State for the years 1908, 1909, and the
General Assembly of Maryland for the Session of 1910, said
supplies having been contracted for under the provisions of
Chapter 397 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1904.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That this Act shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 489.

AN ACT to refund to Henry Bower Chemical Manufacturing
Company, a body corporate of the State of Pennsylvania,
formerly doing business in the State of Maryland, a sum of
money erroneously paid into the State Treasury.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be1 and he is hereby
authorized and directed to draw his warrant on the Treasurer
of this State in favor of Henry Bower Chemical Manufacturing
Company, a body corporate of the State of Pennsylvania, for-
merly doing business in this State, for the sum of three hun-
dred and fifty dollars ($350.00) erroneously paid by the said
corporation to the State of Maryland as a franchise tax on
nine hundred thousand dollars ($900,000.00), being the amount
of capital employed by said corporation in this State, in the
year nineteen hundred and eight, under Chapter 240, Section
70, of the Acts of the General Assembly of the year nineteen
hundred and eight, the re-payment thereof having received the
recommendation of the treasury officials of the State of Mary-
land.
