PRIVATE ACTS. 1439
SEC. 6. Be it further enacted, That the board of directors of
said company shall have the right, without the interference of
local or general laws, to offer inducements to foreign and
American aviators for trials of speed and endurance, and
award such premiums and make such regulations in all races
and contests as may in their discretion and judgment be
deemed wise and good for the encouragement of the science of
aviation.
SEC. 7. Be it enacted, That the grounds of said company
shall be located at or near College Park, Prince George's
County, Maryland, and the sale of liquor or intoxicating drinks
or beverages on said grounds or at any exhibition, contest or
other amusement provided for in this Act or held by said com-
pany is hereby expressly prohibited, all local or general laws
heretofore or hereafter to be passed to the contrary notwith-
standing.
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the capital stock of said
company shall be two hundred thousand dollars, and shall con-
sist of two thousand shares of stock of the par value of one
hundred dollars each, with the right at any or all times to
increase the same in the manner now provided in the general
corporation laws of the State; and the above named incorpo-
rators, or a majority of them, shall have the power to open
books for subscription to said stock at such time and place as
may be deemed expedient; and when ten of said shares have
been subscribed to and twenty-five per cent, of the par value
thereof has been paid in cash, the said incorporators, or their
successors and assigns, shall thereupon have and exercise, in
the name and behalf of said company, all the rights, powers
and privileges granted to the company by this Act.
SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That for the purpose of preserv-
ing order in and around the grounds of said corporation, the
Board of County Commissioners of Prince George's County
may appoint one or more constables, and shall issue to said
persons a commission for such period as the said board shall
deem proper; that said constable or constables shall have the
«ame power or powers and shall qualify in such a manner as
the regular constables are now required to do before said com-
missioners ; and the compensation of every constable appointed
by the authority of this Act shall be paid by said corporation,
and such officers shall not be entitled to receive any public
compensation.
SEC. 10. And be it further enacted, That all public local laws
inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed in so far as
they might apply to the aforesaid The American Aero Exhibi-
tion Company, of College Park, Maryland.
