1232 LAWS OF MARYLAND.
CHAPTER 227.

AN ACT to add a supplement to the certificate of incorpora-
tion, incorporating the Curtis Bay Company of Anne Arun-
del county, which certificate was filed among the Records of
Articles of Incorporation of Anne Arundel county in Liber
S. H. No. 2, folio 12, etc., on the 20th day of March, 1883,
giving the said corporation the right to acquire its capital
stock or any part thereof by purchase, exchange or otherwise.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Curtis Bay Company of Anne Arundel county
be and it is hereby authorized to become the owner of any
shares of its capital stock by purchase, exchange, gift, bequest
or otherwise, and it is further authorized to receive in payment
or in part payment for lands or other property any shares of
the capital stock of the said corporation. It is further pro-
vided that any shares of stock so acquired shall be considered
as cancelled and shall be further considered pro tanto a re-
duction of its capital stock.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 356.

AN ACT making an additional supplement to the Act incor-
porating the Roman Catholic Congregation in Baltimore
Town, passed at November session, in the year 1795, Chapter

15, and to determine and declare the powers of the said cor-
poration respecting the acquisition and holding of land for
its burial ground and the alienation thereof.

Whereas, By an Act entitled "An Act to incorporate the
Roman Catholic Congregation in Baltimore Town," being
Chapter 15 of the Acts of the Assembly passed at November
session, in the year 1795, a certain body corporate was
created, whereof the name was afterwards lawfully changed
to "The Trustees of the Catholic Cathedral Church of Balti-
more;" and

Whereas, By sundry Acts of Assembly heretofore passed, the
said corporation was authorized and empowered to acquire
and hold lands in Baltimore City and also in Baltimore coun-
ty for the purpose of a burial ground; and certain rights,
powers, privileges and immunities were conferred upon it in
connection therewith; and
