lane or alley; and for the collection of such assesment as other
city taxes collected, or in such manner as it may prescribe.
48Z-a. That no sidewalk, street or alley shall be graded or
the grade thereof change or altered in any manner by anyone
except on plan made by a competent surveyor and submitted to
and approved by said Mayor and Council. If any person shall
alter or grade, or change the grade of any sidewalk, street or
alley as established, or as it may be hereafter established, ex-
cept as aforesaid, he shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and on conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than five dol-
lars nor more than one hundred dollars and stand committed
to the county jail until the fine and cost are paid; and, in addi-
tion thereto, shall pay all costs and expenses of restoring said
sidewalk, street or alley to its original grade.
48Z-b. The powers vested in the Mayor and Council of Ber-
lin by Section 48U to 48Z-a inclusive, are intended as addi-
tional to and not in abrogation of any powers already vested
in said Mayor and Council.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 460.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 1 to 20, inclusive, of Chapter 70 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at the
Session of 1884, entitled "An Act to Incorporate the Town of
Bishopville, Worcester County," the same being embodied in
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1888) and desig-
nated in said Code a.s Sections 60 to 80, inclusive, of Ar-
ticle 24.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 1 to 20, inclusive, of Chapter 70 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland passed at the Session of
1884, entitled "An Act to Incorporate the Town of Bishopville,
Worcester County," the same being embodied in the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1888) and designated in said
Code as Sections 60 to 80, inclusive, of Article 24, be and the
same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
