shall be the rate established by the aforesaid Act for Gate No.
1, but the keeper of either Gate No. 1 or No. 3 who may collect
toll shall issue to the person so paying a permit to pass the
other of said two gates without the payment of any additional
toll. The board of directors of said turnpike company shall
have the right to adjust rates of toll for proportionate dis-
tances traveled, but not to establish any rate higher than or
different from that now authorized by existing Acts of As-
sembly.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts of Acts
inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That all rights, privileges and
advantages held by said company as to Gates Nos. 1 and 2 by
virtue of existing legislation be made applicable in like manner
and extent to Gate No. 3.

SEC. 4. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 104.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 295E, 295F, 295G and 295H of
Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Washington County," subtitle "Keedysville," and to
re-enact said sections, with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 295E, 295F, 295G and 295H of Article
22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Wash-
ington County," subtitle "Keedysville," be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read
as follows:

Section 295E. The Burgess and Commissioners, are hereby
vested with power and authority to grant the use of the streets,
alleys and highways of the town to any railway company, the
motive power whereof shall be either horse, steam or electricity,
and to prescribe the terms and conditions upon which such use
shall be allowed; provided said grant, franchise or contract be
ratified by the qualified voters of said town as hereinafter pro-
vided.

Sec. 295F. The said Burgess and Commissioners are hereby
authorized and empowered to enter into any contract or con-
tracts with any person or persons, corporation or corporations,
for the purpose of securing lighting by gas, electricity or other-
