name and residence of the person, firm or corporation to whom
the license is to be granted, the number thereof; and applicant
for such license shall pay to the Circuit Court for Somerset
County, when such license may be granted and before the
issuing and delivery of same, the sum of five dollars for each
license, and the said clerk shall also receive from each appli-
cant for license and the sum of fifty (50) cents as a fee for
issuing the same, including the cost of administering the oath,
if administered by said clerk; nine-tenths of the money re-
ceived for such license shall be paid to the Treasurer of Somer-
set County, to be applied by him to the building and support of
the public schools in said county in the following manner, that
is to say, all sums received from licenses issued to residents of
Crisfield, Asbury and Lawsons Election Districts in said
county shall be applied toward the payment of certain bonds
issued or to be issued for the purpose of building a new high
school building at Crisfield under the Acts of 1910 of the
General Assembly of Maryland, and all sums so received from
licenses issued to residents of Deals Island, Tangier and Dames
Quarter districts, in said county, shall be applied toward re-
pairing the high school or toward building a new high school
at or near Deals Island, in said county, and all sums received
from residents of other election districts in said county shall
be applied to the support of the public schools in the respective
districts in which said last-named residents reside, respec-
tively, or as may be hereafter directed by law, and the remain-
ing one-tenth of the amount received from licenses required by
this Act shall be paid over by said clerk to the Comptroller of
the Treasury, to be credited to the oyster fund.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That if any person, firm or cor-
poration shall engage in the business of shedding, packing or
shipping crabs in Somerset County without first having obtained
a license as required by the preceding section of this Act, that
he or they shall, upon conviction thereof before a justice of the
peace of the aforesaid county, be fined not less than $25 nor
more than $100, and stand committed to the county jail until
all costs and fines are paid; all such fines, when collected, shall
be paid over to the School Commissioners of Somerset County.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
