to the Little Annamessex river; thence by a straight line to the
said Long Point; and all officers and employees of the Town
of Crisfield shall continue to hold, exercise and discharge the
present duties of their respective offices and positions until they
shall be superseded, under the provisions of this Act, or until
their successors shall be duly elected or appointed and qualified.

56. All property, franchises and funds of every kind belong-
ing to or in the possession of the Commissioners of Crisfield
are vested in this corporation, and this corporation may
receive in trust and may hold and control for the purpose of
such trust all moneys or other property which may have been
or shall be bestowed upon such corporation by will, deed or any
other form of gifts or conveyances in trust for any general cor-
porate purpose, or in aid of the indigent poor, or for general
purposes of education, public improvements or for charitable
and benevolent purposes of any description for the benefit of
said city or its inhabitants; and the said corporation may buy
any property it may deem necessary, and may sell, lease or
otherwise dispose of any property belonging to said corpora-
tion; provided, that it shall not buy, sell or dispose of any
property of the value of $5,000 or over without first sub-
mitting the question of so doing to the voters of said city at a
general or special election, of which election and submission at
least twenty days' prior notice shall be given in the manner
provided for holding general elections under this Act.

57. The government of said city shall be vested in a Mayor
and three Councilmen, to be selected as hereinafter provided,,
who shall be taxpayers and qualified voters of the city (except
as to the first Mayor and Council) for twelve months next pre-
ceding their election, and two of said Councilmen elected at the
first election held under this Act shall be nominated to hold
office for four years, and the remaining Councilman and the
Mayor shall be nominated to serve for two years, and at all
subsequent elections to fill vacancies arising from the expira-
tion of said term of Councilmen, or any of them, their succes-
sors shall be elected to serve for the term or terms of four years,
as they are hereby fixed, or any part thereof, or until their suc-
cessors are appointed, elected or qualified; and the Mayor shall
be elected to serve for a term of two years.

58. The male citizens of said city of twenty-one years of age
or over who have resided in said city one year preceding any
election, and all male citizens of like age residing in Somerset
County and owning freehold or leasehold property within the
limits of said city for a term of two years or over before any
election, shall elect by ballot on the first Wednesday in June,
1910, a Mayor and three Councilmen, as provided in the preced-
