Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall
be deemed guilty of a mis-demeanor, and upon conviction shall
be fined not less than ten dollars or more than one hundred dol-
lars for each offense, such fine to be paid to the board or other
public authorities in control of the road upon which such
offense was committed and to be used for road maintenance;
provided, however, that this section shall only apply to roads
which have been improved with modern gravel, shell, mac-
adam or metal roadbed, and shall not apply to dirt roads.

CHAPTER 481.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 56 of
Article 3, of the Public Local Laws of Maryland, known as
the Offutt's Revised Code of Public Local Laws of Balti-
more County of 1915, so as to provide for the appointment
of building inspectors for each election district of Baltimore
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, That Section 56 of Article S
of the Public Local Laws of Maryland known as Offutt's Re-
vised Code of Baltimore County, known as the Revised Code
of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County of 1915, be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with the amendments
so as to read as follows, to wit:
Section 56. That the assessor of new and missed property
in each of the Election Districts of Baltimore County be and
he is hereby constituted the Inspector of Buildings for said
respective districts, and as such shall have all the powers and
duties hereinafter prescribed; provided, that in case at any
time hereafter more than one assessor of new and missed prop-
erty shall be appointed for any one of said respective districts,
the County Commissioners of Baltimore County shall, at the
time of making such appointment, designate which of said ap-
pointees is to serve as inspector of buildings aforesaid, and if
there be no person appointed and qualified as assessor of new
and missed property for any of said election districts the said
County Commissioners shall' appoint some capable and upright
citizen of Baltimore County as inspector of buildings for such
district, and such person shall possess the same qualifications
and qualify in the same manner as required of persons ap-
pointed to the office of assessor of new and missed property in
