and building and of the Glymont public school lot and
building, and from levies, by this Act authorized, imposed
upon all the taxable property of Charles County and upon
the taxable property of Precinct No. 2 of the 7th Election
District of Charles County.

WHEREAS, Chapter 251 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1916 appropriated, from the general treasury
of the State, the sum of $10,000 for the purpose of building a
hospital in Charles County to be known as the Southern Mary-
land Emergency Hospital, and said appropriation to be avail-
able at such time as the sum of $5,000 had been realized either
by private donation or by levy of the County Commissioners of
Charles County, or by both, said sum of $5,000 to be also ap-
plied to the building of said hospital; and,

WHEREAS, it is desired that $8,000 of the said sum of $10,-
OQO so appropriated from the general treasury of the State, and
now standing on the books of the State to the credit of the
said proposed Hospital, instead of being applied to the build-
ing of the said Hospital, shall be applied to the acquisition of
land for and the building and equipping of a High School in
Charles County for white pupils, as authorized by this Act;
therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That eight thousand dollars of the sum of ten thousand
dollars, appropriated by the Act of 1916, Chapter 251 afore-
said for the purpose of building a hospital in Charles County
to be known as the Southern Maryland Emergency Hospital,
and now standing on the books of the State to the credit of
such purpose, shall, instead of being applied to the building
of said hospital, be paid and applied to the purpose of estab-
lishing a High School for the white pupils in Charles County,
as authorized by this Act, said sum of eight thousand dollars
to be paid to the County Board of Education of Charles Coun-
ty, upon warrant of the Comptroller directed -to the Treasurer,
as soon as this Act takes effect.

SEC. 2. And fee it further enacted, That the County Board
of Education of Charles County is hereby authorized and di-
rected to acquire the necessary land for and to construct, equip
and establish a High School for white pupils in Charles Coun-
ty, the same to be erected on a site to be selected by said
County Board of Education, and to be located, as nearly as
