poses of improving the highways of the State as may be neces-
sary for the purchase, construction and maintenance of said
road.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts inconsistent with the provisions hereof are hereby re-
pealed.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from June 1st, 1918.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 88
of Article 81 of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land, title "Revenue and Taxes," sub-title "Limitations."

CHAPTER 374.

AN ACT authorizing the State Roads Commission to make a
survey and estimate of the cost of construction of a State
Highway between Wolfsville and Petersville, in Frederick
County.

WHEREAS, There is now no improved road running north
and south through Middletown Valley, forty miles long and
eight miles wide, in Frederick County, State of Maryland;
and

WHEREAS, The intent of the framers of the law creating the
State Highways Commission was to connect the County Seat
of the several Counties by the most direct routes j and

WHEREAS, There remains a gap of unimproved road, eigh-
teen miles, between Wolfsville and Petersville, known as The
Valley Road, which if constructed and completed would give
an outlet and a continuous improved highway from Wolfsville,
Middlepoint, Ellerton, Myersville, Middletown and Petersville,
much shorter than any other route now available over an im-
proved highway; now, therefore,
