wise a commission of 10 per cent, up to and including $1,000,
and 5 per cent, on all sales over $1,000.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws and all rules inconsistent with the provisions of this
Act are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after June 1, 1918.

CHAPTER 339.
AN ACT to amend Article 3 of the Public Local Laws of
Maryland known as the Baltimore County Code of 1916,
by adding two additional Sections thereto to follow immedi-
ately after Section 553 thereof, and to be known as Sections
553A and 553B, so as to limit and fix the responsibility
of the County Commissioners of Baltimore County for
accidents caused by the condition of footways and sidewalks
along the public highways of Baltimore County.

CHAPTER 340.
AN ACT to increase the compensation of judges, registration ,
officials and clerks of election in Allegany County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That all judges of election, whether acting as or sitting
as officers of registration, and all clerks of election in Allegany
County shall be allowed and paid five dollars ($5.00) a day;
fractions of a day shall be allowed for at the rate of fifty cents
an hour; and in all other respects Section 118 of Article 33 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland, title, "Elections," sub-title,
"Compensation," shall remain in full force and effect in Alle-
gany County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect the 1st day of June, 1918.
