SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved April 10th, 1918.

CHAPTER 303.

AN ACT to authorize the Maryland Industrial School for
Girls to grant and convey all its property, real and personal
to the State of Maryland and to provide for the continuance
under the supervision and control of the State of Maryland
of the work of the Maryland Industrial School for Girls,
hereafter to be known as the 'Maryland Industrial Training
School for Girls, as a reformatory institution of the State
of Maryland for the care and training "of white female
minors committed thereto, and to provide for the manage-
ment thereof, and for the maintenance thereof, and for the
levying of a per capita charge upon the respective Counties
and the City of Baltimore for girls committed to its care,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Maryland Industrial School for Girls, a body
corporate, is hereby authorized and empowered to grant and
convey to the State of Maryland all its property real and per-
sonal subject to existing mortgage encumbrances and floating
indebtedness, if any, and that from and after the acquisition
by the State of Maryland of the said property the same shall
continue as a reformatory under the name of the Maryland
Industrial Training School for Girls to be conducted as a public
agency of this State for the care and reformation of white fe-
male minors now committed thereto, and who may hereafter be
committed thereto under the laws of this State, under the super-
vision, control and management of a Board of Managers here-
by named, the Board of Managers of the Maryland Industrial
Training School for Girls, the said Board of Managers to be
appointed as hereinafter provided.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said Board of
Managers of the Maryland Industrial Training School for
Girls shall consist of the Governor, ex-officio, and fifteen mem-
bers to be appointed by the Governor, who shall receive no
compensation for their services, eight of whom shall be women,
five of said members to be designated and appointed to hold
office for six years, five for four years and five for two years
