AND WHEREAS, the said Trustees are all now deceased except
James E. Ellegood, but their successors have been duly elected
in accordance with the said charter and the discipline of said
church;

AND WHEREAS, William P. Jackson, Jay Williams, C. Dyson
Humphreys, Uriah C. Phillips, Robert G. Evans, William T.
Dashiell, Elisha E. Twilley, William. J. Downing and James
E. Ellegood have been and are now duly and legally electea
Trustees of the said Church and in accordance with the disci-
pline and usages of the Methodist Episcopal Church of the
United States, therefore,

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the said Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church is
hereby declared to have been a duly and legally organized and
incorporated body in the State of Maryland, and that all acts
of the said Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church, or the Trus-
tees thereof, relating to the management and holding of au.,
property or estate belonging to the said Church be and the
same are hereby ratified and confirmed; and that all grants,
bequests, devises and gifts to the said Asbury Methodist Epis-
copal Church are hereby declared to be legal and valid and ef-
fectual to all intents and purposes to be held by the Trustees of
the said Church as hereinafter designated, their successors, who
shall be of the full age of twenty-one years, or whom there shall
be not less than three nor more than nine persons so elected.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said William P.
Jackson, Jay Williams, C. Dyson Humphreys, Uriah C. Phil-
lips, Robert G. Evans, William T. Dashiell, Elisha E. Twilley,
William J. Downing, and James E. Ellegood, Trustees as afore-
said, and their successors, are hereby declared to be a body cor-
porate under the style and name of "The Asbury Methodist
Episcopal Church of Salisbury, Maryland", and by that name
shall have perpetual succession, and shall be able to sue and be
sued and to make and have a common seal and to alter or re-
new same at pleasure.

That the successors of the last named Trustees shall be
elected annually by the members of and at the Fourth Quarterly
Conference of said Church upon the nomination of the Preacher
in charge, or by the District Superintendent, or by one of the
Trustees, and may be elected by viva voce vote, unless more
than nine persons be put in nomination, in which event, the
vote shall be by ballot for not more than nine persons; in case
