656 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 274

Code of the Public Civil Laws of Maryland, title, '' Inheritance'',
as amended by the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1916, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, so as to read as follows:

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if said intestate leave
a widow or surviving husband, such widow or surviving hus-
band shall take, as an heir, the same share or proportion of said
lands, tenements or hereditaments as a widow or surviving hus-
band takes as distributee in the personal property of her or his
deceased spouse under such laws relating to personal prop-
erty, and said widow or surviving husband shall hold said
lands, tenements and hereditaments with the other heirs of said
deceased as tenants in common, and should said lands, tenements
or hereditaments be sold under a decree of any Court having
jurisdiction over same in any proceedings, then it shall be un-
necessary to secure the consent of said widow or surviving hus-
band to said sale unless said widow or surviving husband shall
elect to take the estate known as the dower of the widow and the
dower of a surviving husband as provided for in Section 4 of
this Act.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect the First day of June, 1918.

CHAPTER 274.

AN ACT to amend, to make perpetual and to ratify and con-
firm a charter granted the Trustees of the Asbury Methodist
Episcopal Church of Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland,
dated the llth day of September, 1872, and filed in the Land
Records of "Wicomico County, Maryland, in Liber T. F. J.
R. No. 3, folio 152.

WHEREAS, Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church of Salisbury,
Maryland, was incorporated under the General Laws of Mary-
land on the llth day of September, 1872, in which Amos W.
Woodcock, William T. Smith, William W. Thorington, William
M. Ruark, John Brohawn, Rev. N. M. Browne, Thomas B.
Smith, Thomas H. Williams, James A. A. Venables and James
E. Ellegood were named as Trustees;
