WHEREAS, in furtherance of the general reassessment of
property in Baltimore County it became necessary for the
State Tax Commission to employ clerical assistance to compile
the list of property, and as compensation therefor the said
State Tax Commission was required to expend out of its gen-
eral appropriation the sum of Six Hundred and Fifty-two
Dollars and Ninety Cents ($652.90) ; and
WHEREAS, in compiling the comprehensive and voluminous
report submitted to the General Assembly of Maryland of
1918 by the State Tax Commission, containing valuable and
statistical information relative to the details of taxation in
Maryland, the said State Tax Commission was required to
pay the sum of Two Thousand Six Hundred and Twenty-five
($2,625) Dollars for the printing thereof, which payment was
made out of its general appropriation; and
WHEREAS, said extraordinary expenditures were not taken
into account when the general appropriation was made to the
said Commission, and, therefore, the said Commission is enti-
tled to be paid the said sum out of the general Treasury of the
State; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of Thirty-five Hundred ($3,500) Dollars
be and the same is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in
the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the use of the
State Tax Commission of Maryland.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Comptroller
of the Treasury is directed to draw his warrant on the Treas-
urer for the said sum of Thirty-five Hundred ($3500) Dollars
in favor of the State Tax Commission of Maryland.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall be-
come effective June 1st, 1918.

Calvert County," and to re-enact same with amendments.
