SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 227 of the Acts of 1896 be and the same
ia hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the citizens of said the
"Second or Holland's Island" precinct as established by the
said Act shall hereafter have the right to register and to vote in
Precinct No. 1 of the Tenth or Straits Election District, pro-
vided the names now enrolled on the registry for said Hol-
land's Island precinct shall be transferred to the registry for
the said Precinct No. 1 of the Tenth or Straits Election
District by the supervisors of election for Dorchester County,
without charge, and that the persons whose names are so trans-
ferred shall have the right and privilege to vote at all elections
hereafter held in Dorchester County.

CHAPTER 226.

AN ACT to repeal Section one hundred and seventy-nine of
Article eighteen of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Queen Anne's County," sub-title "Jailer and Jail," and to
re-enact the same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section one hundred and seventy-nine of Article
eighteen of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Queen Anne's
County," sub-title "Jailer and Jail," be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

Section 179. He shall be entitled to receive for boarding
and keeping any prisoner in said jail, such sum per day as the
County Commissioners for said county may in their discretion
determine, said sum not to be less than fifty cents, nor more
than seventy-five cents per day, and to an annual allowance
from said county sufficient to furnish fuel for the comfort and
benefit of said prisoners.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on the first day of June, nineteen hundred and eighteen.
