pointed or removed or in any way discriminated against be-
cause of his political or religious opinion or affiliation.

Section 82M. No employee of the State Roads Commission
shall directly solicit, give or receive, or bo in any manner
concerned in soliciting, giving or receiving any contribution
of any kind for any political party or purpose from any em-
ployee of the State R/oads Commission.

Section 82N. The services of said board shall be open at
all times without'charge to the public road authorities of any
county in this State who may desire information as to eligibles
or assistants in securing competent employees in connection,
with public road work in such counties.

Section 82 O. Any person violating the provisions of this
Act, or any rules established thereunder, shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor, and shall, on conviction, be punished by a fine
of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by impris-
onment for a term not exceeding six months, or by both fine
and imprisonment. If such person be an applicant for exami-
nation he shall be excluded therefrom. If he be an eligible,
his name shall be removed from the eligible list, and if he be
an officer or employee of the State Ro-ads Commission, he shall
forthwith be removed from the service.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this
Act shall be held in any manner to affect or diminish the pow-
ers of the State Roads Commission, as heretofore prescribed
by law, except as said powers are herein specifically altered or
diminished, nor shall anything herein be held to affect the
tenure in office of the persons at present constituting the State
Roads Commission, and such persons shall continue in office
notwithstanding the passage of this Act.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of July, 1918.

CHAPTER 225.

AN ACT to repeal Chapter 227 of the Acts of 1896, providing
for the creation of a new precinct in Straits Election Dis-
trict, and providing that the voters of said precinct shall be
registered in Precinct No. 1 of said election district and
shall vote in said precinct.
