County Commissioners for incompetency, disobedience, neglect
of duty or other cause, which in the judgment of the said
Commissioners may be sufficient for such removal, but in no
case shall he be removed except upon charges involving his
fitness for the position and after notice thereof in writing and
the opportunity to be heard upon same be given him. The
warden shall receive an annual salary of fifteen hundred dol-
lars per year, to be paid in monthly instalments, and occupy
the dwelling portions of the jail free of charge. The deputy
warden shall have the privilege of occupying one of the sleep-
ing rooms in the jail building.

SEC. 2. And be it further. enacted, That this Act shall take
effect. from June 1, 1918.

CHAPTER 35.

AN ACT to provide additional compensation for the teachers
in the public schools of Montgomery County, State of Mary-
land, and to authorize and direct the County Board of Edu-
cation of Montgomery County to borrow money for such
purposes, and to make provisions for the repayment of said
amount so borrowed, with interest, in two equal installments
in the annual school budget for the year 1918 and the year
1919; further authorizing and directing the Board of County
Commissioners of Montgomery County to levy a tax annually
sufficient to repay said amount so borrowed, with interest,
as the same is included in the school budget of said County
Board of Education of Montgomery County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Board of Education of Montgomery
County, in the State of Maryland, be and it is hereby author-
ized and directed to borrow on the credit of said Montgomery
County, in the most advantageous manner to be determined
by said County Board of Education of Montgomery County,
the sum of twelve thousand dollars ($12, 000), with interest
not exceeding six per cent, per annum, said amount when so
borrowed to be disbursed for the payment of increased salary
to the teachers in the public schools of said County for the
current school year, the manner of payment to be determined
by the said County Board of Education of Montgomery County
