office of the said Register of Wills; and to index and enter the
indexed names under which Accounts of Guardians filed in the
Orphans' Court for Queen Anne's County in and during the
period of time from January 1st, 1890, to January 1st, 1918,
are indexed in the books in which the said Accounts of Guar-
dians are recorded, and the numbers of said record books and
the respective folios upon which the said Accounts of Guardians
are recorded, into a book to be known as the "General Index
to Guardians' Accounts, W. T. B. No. 1", in the office of the
said Register of Wills.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the County Commissioners
of Queen Anne's County be and they are hereby empowered and
directed to appropriate for the use and to pay to the said Reg-
ister of Wills for Queen, Anne's County the sum of Five Hun-
dred Dollars ($500.00) for his services in indexing and entering
said indexed names and numbers of said books and folios herein-
above in this Act mentioned.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the first day of June, nineteen hundred and eighteen.

CHAPTER 177.

AN ACT to create a special taxing area or district and to be
known as Section 4 of the Village of Chevy Chase, Mont-
gomery County, Maryland, and to authorize, empower and
direct the Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery
County, Maryland, upon the request of a majority of those
present at meetings of the registered and qualified voters and
property owners residing in said area, to make special annual
levies not exceeding fifty (50) cents on each one hundred
(100) dollars of the assessable property of the said part of
the Village of Chevy Chase, within certain boundaries, for
the purpose of opening, improving, repairing and lighting
the streets, roads, lanes, alleys, sidewalks, parking, drainage,
sewerage, sanitation and other village improvements, and for
furnishing police protection, clerical and other public service,
including the removal of ashes, garbage and other refuse,
and the disposal thereof; for the employment of a building
inspector to enforce the requirements of all conveyances of
land situated in said village and the promulgation of build-
