SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Queen Anne's County, " under a new sub-title "Orphans'
Court, " said new section to follow immediately after Section
210 of said Article 18 and to be known and designated as Sec-
tion 210A, and to read as follows:
Section 210A. The Judges of the Orphans' Court of Queen
Anne's County shall each receive the sum of seven dollars
($7. 00) for every day's attendance upon the sessions of said
Court, to be paid by the County Commissioners of said Queen
Anne's County in quarterly payments, and in addition thereto
there shall be paid to the said Judges the sum of five cents per
mile for each mile traveled by them in going to and returning
from the said sessions of said Orphans' Court, to be paid by
the said County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County upon
the certificate of the Register of Wills for said county; pro-
vided, that no Judge of said Court shall receive in any one
year as compensation for his services a sum exceeding five
hundred dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Chapter 454 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1904, enti-
tled "An Act to add mileage to the compensation of the Judges
of the Orphans' Court for Queen Anne's County, Maryland, "
be and the same is hereby repealed, and that all other Acts or
parts of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be
and the same are hereby repealed solely to the extent that said
Acts or parts of Acts affect the amount of the per diem to be
received by the Judges of the Orphans' Court of Queen Anne's
County for their attendance upon the sessions of said Court
and the mileage to be received by said Judges in going to and
returning from said sessions.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of June nineteen hundred and eighteen.
