EMERSON C. HARRINGTON, GOVERNOR. 27

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That an additional section be and the same is hereby
added to Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "City of Baltimore, " sub-title "Police Commission-
ers, " said additional section to follow immediately after Section
744 of said Article, to be numbered Section 744-A, and to read
as follows:

744-A. The Board of Police Commissioners shall have power,
in its discretion, to reinstate in their former rank or grade all
members of the Police Department who may leave or have left
therefrom for the purpose of entering the military or naval
service of the United States upon their return from such ser-
vice, provided that those persons so returning shall pass a satis-
factory physical examination.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on and after June 1, 1918.

Approved March 19th, 1918.

CHAPTER 24.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 18 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Queen Anne's Coun-
ty, " under a new sub-title "Orphans' Court, " providing for
the amount of the per diem to be received by the Judges of
the Orphans' Court of Queen Anne's County for their
attendance upon the sessions of said Court and for the mile-
age to be received by said Judges in going to and returning
from said sessions, said new section to follow immediately
after Section 210 of said Article 18 and to be known and
designated as Section 210A; and to repeal Chapter 454 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1904, entitled "An
Act to add mileage to the compensation of the Judges of the
Orphans' Court for Queen Anne's County, Maryland, " and
to repeal all other Acts or parts of Acts inconsistent with
the provisions of this Act solely to the extent that said Acts
or parts of Acts affect the amount of the per diem and mile-
age to be received by the Judges of the Orphans' Court of
Queen Anne's County for their attendance upon the ses-
sions of said Court
