CHAPTER 18.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 215
of the Code of Public Local Laws for Prince George's Coun-
ty, title "County Treasurer, " and providing for the payment
of interest on deposits.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 215 of the Code of Public Local Laws
for Prince George's County be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

215. All county taxes shall be paid in cash or in the ma-
tured coupons of Prince George's County bonds; and all money
collected by the Treasurer and belonging to said County shall
be deposited by him, as soon as collected, in the name of the
Treasurer of said County, and not in his individual name, in
such amounts and in such safe bank or banks of said County
as are approved by him and which will agree to pay interest
on said deposits of not less than two per cent, per annum, com-
puted monthly on the daily average balances of said Treas-
urer. All interest earned by said funds shall be credited to the
respective accounts of said Treasurer semi-annually, and ac-
counted for by him.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1. 1918.

Approved March 22nd, 1918.

CHAPTER 19.

AN ACT to refund to licensed liquor dealers of Prince
George'8 County the unused part of such license for the year
ending May 1, 1918.

WHEREAS, By an act of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1917 in extraordinary session, Chapter 13, the sale of spirit-
uous and fermented liquor was prohibited on and after
November 1, 1917, in Prince George's County, and which
law was held to be constitutional and effective by the Court
of Appeals of Maryland; and

WHEREAS, The liquor dealers of said county had held county
licenses good entitling them to sell liquor until May 1, 1918;
