Section 220. The sheriff of Caroline County shall be al-
lowed a sum not exceeding sixty-five (65c. ) cents a day for
boarding and keeping each prisoner committed to his custody,
and the said sheriff is hereby required to keep a book at the jail,
in which he shall record the name of each prisoner committed
to his custody, and by what authority, the time when received
and the offence charged, and also the date of his discharge,
which book shall be open to the inspection of the County Com-
missioners, State's Attorney and Grand Jury; should the
sheriff neglect or refuse to keep said book or comply with any
of the duties which he is hereby required to perform, he shall
be liable to indictment and upon conviction be fined a sum not
exceeding one hundred ($100. 00) dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage, it being hereby declared an emerg-
ency law necessary for the immediate preservation of the pub-
lic safety.

CHAPTER 94.
AN ACT to repeal Section 28 of Article 99 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Wild Fowl, Birds and Game, " in
so far as the same prohibits shooting, catching, killing or
having in possession, alive or dead, any turkey buzzard, and
to make it lawful to shoot, catch, kill or in any manner de-
stroy any turkey buzzard within the limits of any incor-
porated town in Caroline County and Talbot County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 28 of Article 99 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title "Wild Fowl, Birds and Game, " be and the same
is hereby repealed in so far as prohibits the shooting, catching,
killing or having in possession, alive or dead, any turkey buz-
zard within the limits of -any incorporated town in Caroline
County and Talbot County, and that the shooting, catching,
killing or otherwise destroying at any time any turkey buzzard,
be and the same is hereby made lawful in said town.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1st, 1918.
