SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public safety, and being passed upon
a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

Approved June 27th, 1917.

CHAPTER 27.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections. VI,
XVII, XVIII and XXXIX of Article 65 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, title "Militia," as said Article was re-
pealed and re-enacted by Chapter 311 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1916, and to add three
additional sections to said Article, as repealed and re-enacted
by said Act of 1916, said additional sections to follow im-
mediately after Sections VI, XII and 82, respectively, of
said Article, and to be numbered, respectively, VI A, XII A
and 82 A.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections VI, XVII, XVIII and XXXIX of
Article 65 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Militia,"
as said Article was repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 311 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1916, be
and the same are, respectively, repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, so as to read as follows:

VI. All persons shall, upon the application of any person
making such enrollment, give the name of and all other proper
information concerning any person within their knowledge lia-
ble to be enrolled, and any person failing or refusing so to do,
and any person who fails or refuses to answer any question
properly asked by the officer making the enrollment, or who
answers any such question untruthfully, or who declines to
