said Government of the United States for such use and occupa-
tion.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That in the event a mili-
tary camp is established by the United States Government (as
aforesaid), it shall be and is hereby made unlawful to sell,
give away or dispose of spirituous, fermented, malt or any in-
toxicating liquors within a zone surrounding the land used for
said camp site, or other military purposes in connection there-
with, said zone to be two miles in width measured from the
outermost boundaries of the land used by the United States
Government for said camp site and other military purposes
connected therewith, and no license shall be issued for the sale
of such liquors in said zone, and any person or persons, cor-
poration, house, company, club or association, who or which
shall, after the establishment of said camp site, sell, give away,
or otherwise dispose of any spirituous, fermented, malt or any
intoxicating liquors within the said zone as herein denned (ex-
cept for medicinal or sacramental purposes) shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to
a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50. ), nor more than
five hundred dollars ($500. ), and costs, or to imprisonment
for not less than three months, nor more than twelve months,
or to both fine and imprisonment, in the discretion of the court
or of any justice of the peace having criminal jurisdiction.
The provisions of this Section 3 of this Act shall remain in
full force and effect until the United States Government shall
cease to maintain the military camp hereinbefore mentioned,
and all Acts and parts of Acts, whether general or local, incon-
sistent with the provisions of this Section 3 of this Act be and
they are hereby repealed.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted. That the Governor of
this State be and he is hereby authorized and empowered to
appoint special policemen, not exceeding five in number, to
patrol the said zone contiguous, to the land to be used by the
United States Government for a camp site, and other military
purposes, and to see that the provisions of Section 3 of this
Act are rigidly enforced, and to arrest, report and prosecute
all persons violating the provisions of said Section 3 of this
Act, or any other laws of this State, relating to crimes or mis-
