5lA. The Commissioners of Chestertown shall each receive a
salary of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per annum, payable
quarterly in equal proportions, beginning from the first day of
May in the year nineteen hundred and eight.

65A. That the Commissioners of Chestertown may levy on
the assessable property of Chestertown such sum of money as
they may deem necessary, not exceeding fifteen cents on the
hundred dollars in any one year, in addition to the levy of
thirty-five cents on the hundred dollars now authorized by law,
and shall have the same powers in the collection of such addi-
tional sum as they may levy as they now possess.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That at the next regular election
for Commissioners of Chestertown there shall be submitted to
the qualified voters of Chestertown, the questions whether the
Commissioners of Chestertown shall each receive a salary of one
hundred dollars ($100.00) per annum, and whether an addi-
tional levy of fifteen cents in the hundred dollars on the assess-
able property in Chestertown shall be authorized; and at such
election the ballots cast upon said question shall have the
words "For Salary," or "Against Salary," and "For Additional
Levy" or "Against Additional Levy" thereon; and if a majority
of the votes cast upon said question of salary shall be "For
Salary," then section 5lA, as above enacted, shall become in
force and effect, but if the majority of the votes cast shall be
"Against Salary," then said section 5lA shall be of no effect.
And if a majority of the votes cast upon said question of addi-
tional levy shall be "For Additional Levy," then section 65A
as above enacted shall become in force and effect, but if the
majority of the votes cast shall be "Against Additional Levy,"
then said section 65A shall be of no effect.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 311.

AN ACT to repeal section 59c of article 15 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Kent County," sub-title "Ches-
tertown, as enacted by chapter 528 of the Laws of Mary-
land, 1906, and to re-enact said section so as to read as fol-
lows:

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 59c of article 15 of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Kent County," sub-title "Chestertown," as enacted
