under this Act for less than par or the face value thereof for
cash in current money; provided, however, that the said
County Commissioners may, if in their discretion they may
elect to do so, offer for a limited time at private sale, any or all
of said bonds at a premium above their face value or at par at a
lower rate of interest than the maximum amount provided
herein; provided, however, that the County Commissioners, if
in their judgment it may be deemed expedient and for the in-
terest of the county, may make any arrangement, by exchange of
bonds or by contract as to interest on same, as may be practica-
ble with present holders,tto be payable as provided in section
2 hereof, or for the remainder of the time for which the said
bonds shall run according to their terms as already issued, and
to bear interest at the rate of four per cent, instead of five per
cent, as by existing law.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all Acts or parts of Acts in-
consistent with this Act are hereby repealed, and that this Act
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 509.
AN ACT to repeal section 8 of chapter 199 of the Acts of 1904,
being "An Act to create the office of Treasurer of Charles
county, and to provide for the collection of taxes therein;"
and also sections 9 and 10 of chapter 760 of the Acts of 1906,
entitled "An Act to repeal section 9 of chapter 199 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland for the session of
1904, entitled "An Act to create the office of Treasurer for
Charles county, and to provide for the collection of taxes
therein," and to re-enact the same with amendments; and to
add a new section to said Act, to be known as "Section 10,"
and to re-enact the aforegoing sections with amendments, to
be designated, respectively, as sections 8, 9 and 10 of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title "Charles County," sub-title
"Treasurer."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 8 of chapter 199 of the Acts of 1904, being
"An Act to create the office of Treasurer for Charles county,
and to provide for the collection of taxes therein," and also sec-
tions 9 and 10 of chapter 760 of the Acts of 1906, entitled "An
Act to repeal section 9 of chapter 199 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland for the session of 1904, entitled "An Act
