684 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

cessors are duly elected and qualified; and that such election
shall be held on the first Saturday of June annually thereafter,
between the hours of two and five o'clock P. M., at such place
as the Commissioners of said town shall appoint to elect by
ballot five persons, residents and qualified voters of said town,
as Commissioners of Hillsboro.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners shall
meet at such place as they may appoint within said town, as
often as they shall deem necessary, provided that they shall
meet at least once in three months.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 532.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 214
of article 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Caroline
County," sub-title "Roads," and to enact two new sections to
article 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Caroline
County," sub-title "Roads,'' to follow section 213, and to be
designated as sections 214 and 214A.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 214 of article 6 of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Caroline County,'' sub-title "Roads," be and the
same is hereby repealed, and that two new sections be and
the same are hereby added to article 6 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Caroline County," sub-title "Roads," to
follow section 213, and to be designated as sections 214 and
214A, and to read as follows:

SEC. 214. It shall not be lawful for any person, persons, cor-
poration or body politic to place any obstruction upon any of
the public highways, roads and bridges of Caroline county, or
to interfere with or obstruct the ditches or drains thereof, or
encroach upon said highways and roads with fences, buildings
or anything else which would tend to interfere with the travel
thereon; nor shall it be lawful for any person, persons, corpora-
tions or body politic engaged in the business of agriculture, to
plough, cultivate or make turnrows in any of said highways and
roads, or in any of the drains or ditches of Caroline county,
nor shall it be lawful for any person, persons, corporation or
body politic to suffer or permit his or its traction engine to
stop for any purpose whatsoever on any bridge in Caroline
county.
