Act, and which is not paid out for damages in the calendar
year for which it is collected, shall be expended in the respective
counties under the direction of the County Commissioners as
they may see fit.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That a county officer who refuses
or wilfully neglects to perform the duties imposed upon him
by the provisions of this Act relating to dogs shall be punished
by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars, which shall be
paid into the county treasury; whoever is aggrieved by such re-
fusal or neglect may report the same forthwith to the District
or State's Attorney of his county, who shall bring action.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That all fines and penalties pro-
vided for in this Act may be recovered before Circuit Court or
justice of the peace in the county in which the offense was com-
mitted.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That all Acts or parts of Acts in-
consistent with this are and the same is hereby repealed.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 149.

AN ACT to prohibit the shooting of fireworks at or in the
vicinity of the village of Barstow, in Calvert county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall be unlawful for any person to set off fire-
works or shoot any torpedoes, rockets or other fireworks of any
kind within 200 yards of any store or postoffice in Calvert
county, or on or near the public roads within said county.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That any person violating
the provisions of this Act, upon conviction before a justice
of the peace of the said county or the Circuit Court, shall be
fined the sum of not less than one dollar for each offense.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 30, 1908.
