Whereas a fourth legislative district of Baltimore city has
been created since the enactment of the above Acts; and
Whereas it is desirable that the benefits of those Acts shall
be extended to the fourth legislative district of Baltimore
city; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That one student from the fourth legislative district of
Baltimore city be provided with board, heat, light, washing and
room at St. John's College, Annapolis, Maryland, under the
conditions set forth in the Act of 1878, chapter 315, section 2,
and that two students from the same district be provided with
free tuition at the said college in accordance with the provision
of the Act of 1894, chapter 208.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer, on the war-
rant of the Comptroller, be and is hereby authorized and
directed to pay to the Board of Visitors and Governors of St.
John's College, Annapolis, Maryland, the annual sum of $500
in three instalments, viz: $166 on the first day of April, $ 166 on
the first day of October and f 168 on the first day of January
succeeding the passage of this Act; to be applied by the said
board to the providing of board, heat, light, washing and room
of one student, and to the tuition for two students from the
fourth legislative district of Baltimore city, to be appointed
as indicated in the preceding section, and in the Acts aforesaid.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 24.
AN ACT ratifying the appropriation by the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore of the sum of ten thousand dollars out
of any unexpended balance of the fund in its hands arising
from the sale of its interests in the Western Maryland Rail-
road to the Fuller syndicate, for the purpose of erecting
in the city of Baltimore a suitable memorial to the memory
of John Mifflin Hood.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the appropriation by the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore, as evidenced by its ordinance No. 266, approved
May 8, 1907, of the sum of ten thousand dollars out of any un-
expended balance of the fund in its hands arising from the
sale of its interests in the Western Maryland Railroad to the
