SEC. 2A. Be it enacted, That no license shall be granted under
the provisions of said Act or under the provisions of any law
authorizing the sale of intoxicating liquors in the first and
third precincts of the fifth election district of Anne Arundel
county to any person who has not been a bona fide resident
of said county at least six months prior to the granting of the
license; and that no licensee. shall sell or furnish to any per-
son intoxicating liquor between the hours of twelve o'clock M.
and six o'clock A. M. at any time; provided, however, that this
section shall not apply to a licensee who is a bona fide hotel
keeper, and any person applying for a hotel license shall pay
the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars in addition to the
license fee now required by said Act; and any person violating
the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction, be sen-
tenced to pay a fine not less than twenty-five dollars nor more
than three hundred dollars.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That any person, firm, corpora-
tion, club or association who shall be convicted of selling intoxi-
cating liquors without license shall be sentenced to pay a fine
of not more than four hundred dollars for each and every
offense.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on the first day of May, 1908.

CHAPTER 265.

AN ACT to add a new section to article 2 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel County, " sub-title "Priso-
ners, " to follow section 188A and to be designated as section
188B.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel
County, " sub-title "Prisoners, " to follow section 188A and to
be designated as section 188B, and to read as follows:

188B. For all prisoners conveyed to jail, house of correction,
other penal or reformatory institutions, or persons conveyed
to the county almshouse, the said constable shall receive in the
city of Annapolis, Eastport, Germantown and West Annapolis,
in the second election district of Anne Arundel county, the
charges now allowed by law for persons conveyed to the county
jail and to other institutions, the allowance shall be |2. 50 for
the first five miles and ten cents per mile one way for any
