SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to draw his warrants upon the Treasurer of Maryland
in the sums following, to wit: To Charles T. Clayton, of Lona-
coning, Maryland, for $609. 41, and to Thomas Murphy, of Mid-
land, Maryland, for $15. 00, to pay for printing the reports of
the Mine Inspector to May, 1906, and to May, 1907, and for
printing blank forms and other necessary expenses of the office
of Mine Inspector for the years 1906 and 1907, as provided by
chapter 124 of the. Acts of the General Assembly of 1902.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 220.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 216n
of article 1 of the Public Local Laws of the State of Mary-
land, title "Allegany County, " sub-title "Roads, " as said
section was enacted by chapter 138 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland for the year 1906.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That section 216B of article 1 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Allegany County, " sub-title "Roads, "
as said section was enacted by chapter 138 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of the year 1906, be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
SEC. 216E. The County Commissioners shall, in their annual
levy in the year 1908, and annually thereafter, levy upon the
assessable property of Allegany county not less than forty
thousand dollars for the use of the road directors of Allegany
county, which shall be collected as other taxes are collected;
and to the extent of such levy the County Treasurer of Alle-
gany county shall honor the drafts to be signed by the chairman
of such directors and to be countersigned by said engineer;
but this Act shall not be construed as depriving the County
Commissioners of such power as they may possess of appro-
priating sums of money to the different incorporated towns
of the county for road improvements. And the said County
Commissioners are further directed by their annual levy in the
year 1908, to levy upon the assessable property of Allegany
county an additional sum of twenty-five thousand dollars
($25, 000), and by their annual levy in the year 1909 a like sum
of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25, 000), for the use of the
road directors of such county in the building of permanent
roads therein; and such County Commissioners are further
